A gentle nightly tape, made from soft non-woven fabric, that helps keep the lips closed and supports nasal breathing while you sleep. Useful if you wake with a dry mouth or are building a more consistent nose-breathing habit. Hypoallergenic adhesive. New to taping? The vented black tape has a small slot in the centre for a gentler start. Not a medical device. Only use it if you can breathe comfortably through your nose.
Why people use it
- Helps keep the lips gently closed to support nasal breathing overnight
- May help if you wake with a dry mouth or notice mouth breathing at night
- Hypoallergenic adhesive designed for comfortable, removable nightly wear
- Pairs with RestUp Nasal Strips for a complete nighttime routine
How to make it stick
- 1Make sure you can breathe comfortably through your nose. If you're congested, sort the nose out first.
- 2Clean and fully dry your lips. Skip lip balm, moisturiser or oils beforehand, or the tape won't hold.
- 3Close your mouth, relax your lips and press the tape onto the lips themselves, not the skin around them. If you have a beard or moustache, this is what makes it hold.
- 4Hold it gently for 20-30 seconds so the adhesive warms and bonds.
Taking it off
- Wet your lips with warm water or a damp cloth first.
- Peel slowly from one corner. Don't pull it straight off.
- If your lips feel dry or sensitive, skip a night and moisturise.

Frequently asked questions
- Is mouth tape safe for everyone?
- Only use mouth tape if you can breathe comfortably through your nose. Do not use it if you feel unwell, nauseous, intoxicated, unable to remove it yourself, or if a healthcare professional has advised against it.
- Can mouth tape help with snoring?
- RestUp may help support quieter sleep when snoring is linked to mouth breathing. It is not a treatment for sleep apnoea or any breathing disorder. Speak to a healthcare professional if symptoms are severe or persistent.
- Why won't the tape stay on?
- Usually lip balm, moisturiser or a damp lip underneath. Apply to clean, fully dry lips, and press the tape onto the lips themselves rather than the skin around them, which matters most if you have a beard or moustache. Hold it for 20-30 seconds so the adhesive bonds.
- Does it feel strange at first?
- Most people say it feels unfamiliar for the first few nights and normal within a week. It is a gentle hold, not a seal, so you can still speak, cough and sip water. Start with an hour or two before sleep if you'd rather ease in.
- What is the vented tape for?
- It's the beginner-friendly option. A small slot in the centre leaves an opening at the lips, so it feels less closed-in than solid tape. Start with it if you're new to taping or found solid tape too much, and move to solid once you're used to it. The vent is not a workaround for a blocked nose: only tape if you can breathe comfortably through your nose.
- Can I use it together with nasal strips?
- Yes. Many customers use nasal strips to support easier airflow through the nose and mouth tape to help keep nasal breathing consistent overnight.
- How long does one pack last?
- Each pack contains 30 strips, so one pack lasts about a month if used nightly.
